G5A - Koli Paper

This initiative was conceptualised with G5A. G5A through a series of diverse programs and projects we are committed to nurturing a vibrant, safe, and inclusive platform that encourages the creative and just – in thought and expression. The objective of the intervention is to provide additional livelihood prospects to the women in the Worli Koliwada district in Mumbai. To create a self reliant group of women who make a modest living by pursuing an activity which is revenue generating as well as harmless to its context. Our project touches upon most of the essential factors which are important to a holistic growth. The interventions success lies in the persistent efforts and patient dedication, which the people and the context demand. However papermaking is an activity which will be easily accepted by the community at large. The challenge lies in pursuing the activity for years to come till it reaches a critical mass.
