The 'Changemakers' Exhibition

This exhibition was conceived as a part of the centenary year celebrations of The Museum - CSMVS. 1920 - 2020. The exhibition pays homage to a few of the undocumented women who worked hard to bring about societal change over a 100 years ago. In face of the strong prevailing rules and restrictions of the society, they tried to build a new life for women by providing them with an education which was still superstitiously believed to bring bad luck at the time. They built shelters for the victims of child marriage and to aid the problems of widows.They provided vocation for destitute women. And finally, they improved maternal and child care. But this was all done with no militancy. They had the support of enlightened men with liberal views. We were entrusted with the conceptualisation, design and execution of the exhibition at CSMVS, Mumbai.
